Consensus by Monday: Dahal

KATHMANDU, Dec. 16: UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal on Sunday expressed his confidence that the political parties would be able to forge consensus by Monday.



After his meeting with President Dr Ram Baran Yadav in Shital Niwas this morning, Dahal said talks among political parties are moving ahead in a positive direction and that consensus would be forged by Monday evening. [break]



During the meeting, Dahal is said to have apprised the president about ongoing political efforts to resolve outstanding issues prior to the formation of national consensus government



“The country is now heading towards the path of political consensus. We will be able to settle our differences by Monday,” Dahal said. The deadline given by the president, which has already been extended thrice, is expiring on Monday.



Also earlier this morning, President Yadav held a meeting with United Democratic Madhesi Front Coordinator and Deputy Prime Minister Bijay Kumar Gachchhadar on contemporary political issues.
