Conference on Asset Liability Management held

KATHMANDU, Aug 6: National Banking Institute (NBI) organized a daylong conference on Asset Liability Management in Kathmandu on Thursday.

Speaking at the conference, Binod Atreya, executive director of Nepal Rastra Bank, said that the institute's focus was to develop human capital in the financial sector.

Likewise, Shovan Dev Pant, chairman of NBI, said that assets liability management and managing market risk have been a big challenge to financial institutions. Rajinder Kumar, Chief General Manager at Department of Banking Regulation of Reserve Bank of India, RipujitChaudhari, Head - Market Risk of ICICI Bank Ltd and K Mohan Bhaktha, Executive Director at Weizmann Forex Ltd, among others, addressed the conference which was attended by representatives from different banks and financial institutions, insurance companies, investment banks, MFIs and pension funds. Bhuvan Kumar Dahal, CEO of Sanima Bank Ltd and banking expert Parshuram Kumar Chhetri facilitated the panel discussion in the conference.
