Clean-up campaign at Singha Durbar

KATHMANDU, April 5: Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai has observed the clean-up campaign conducted on the premises of Singha Durbar Thursday morning.



Talking to media after inspecting the campaign, Prime Minister Dr. Bhattarai said, ´I also wished to be the part of clean-up campaign but could not involve physically due to immediate meeting with a US delegate´. [break]



The Prime Minister further said the national volunteer campaign has been initiated to impart message that keeping house and locality clean will make the country clean.



He also requested one and all to join the campaign.



On the occasion, Prime Minister Dr. Bhattarai directed Chief Secretary Madhav Prasad Ghimire to make necessary arrangement of garbage containers in different places at Singha Durbar premises and take strong action against those not throwing wastes to the containers.



Also featured in the sanitation campaign today were chief secretary Ghimire, secretary at Ofice of Prime Minister and Council of Ministers Lilamani Poudel, including government officials at different levels.



Though the campaign is scheduled to kick off from April 6-11, the Singha Durbar clean-up programme is organized today to give the message of beginning of the campaign.
