Clash at Kanchanpur jail leaves five inmates injured

Five inmates were injured during a clash at the district jail in Mahendranagar, Kanchanpur, on Wednesday. Inspector Thapa confirmed that the situation inside the jail has now returned to normal. Following the incident, a large contingent of police personnel was deployed to maintain order.

MAHENDRANAGAR, April 7: Five inmates were injured during a clash at the district jail in Mahendranagar, Kanchanpur, on Wednesday.



Police Inspector Birendra Singh Thapa reported that the fight broke out among inmates inside the jail. Those injured include 23-year-old Om Prakash Gharedi from Shuklaphanta–7, 19-year-old Bhuvan Nath, and 26-year-old Bhuwan Aiyer, both from Shuklaphanta–11.

Additionally, Ayush Bam, 25, from Bhimdatt–7, and 26-year-old Raju Damai from Belauri–8 were also hurt in the clash.


Inspector Thapa confirmed that the situation inside the jail has now returned to normal. Following the incident, a large contingent of police personnel was deployed to maintain order.
