Chief secretary wants govt staffs at office during office hours

KATHMANDU, Aug. 10: Chief Secretary Leelamani Paudyal has urged tourism entrepreneurs not to invite any government staff to any programmes and meetings during the office hour.



Addressing the fifth general assembly of Nepal Private Tourist Transport Entrepreneurs´ Association here on Saturday, the Chief Secretary said all should be sensitive towards possible obstructions in service delivery to the public when government officials are involved in assembly, seminar or other unofficial programmes during their duty hours. [break]



He warned of taking action against those government offices organizing such programmes during the office hour and urged the business community not to unnecessarily spend budget in their programmes.



He said he was always ready to maintain coordination and facilitate to address the problems of tourism entrepreneurs.



On the occasion, the Chief Secretary honoured Chairman of Gantabya Nepal Publication and journalist Shiba Adhikari and Traffic Police Inspector Sitaram Hachhethu. General Secretary of Nepal Travel and Tour Agents Association ( NATTA) and Chairman of Thamel Tourism Development Committee Ram Sharan Thapaliya, among others stressed on the need of developing tourist bus stop in the capital , banning outdated ( over ten year–old ) in the tourist sectors and developing necessary physical infrastructures for the promotion of tourism sector.
