Cheese, potato and chilli: The Bhutanese way

KATHMANDU, Nov 22: Come out of the daal, bhat and tarkari routine and explore an easy Bhutanese dish which tastes delicious and goes very well with rice.



Pick out some potatoes, green chillies and have a reasonable amount of grated cheese to make this dish known as Kewa Dachi which takes about five minutes to prepare and 20 minutes to cook. [break]



Also have some oil, salt and water ready on the side. Then, peel the potatoes and cut in to medium slices.







Drop the potatoes in a cooking vessel and then add enough water to boil the potatoes.



Add in the oil, salt to taste and the green chillies, depending on the degree of hotness you prefer.



When the potatoes are cooked, add in the cheese and then let it melt.



Then serve the Kewa Dachi hot, with some rice.
