BIRATNAGAR, Nov 27: A chakka jam has been called in Biratnagar on Sunday in protest against the failure of the Government to arrest those involved in the murder of General Secretary of Islamic Association Nepal, Faijan Ahmed even two months after the incident of murder.

All public, private and government vehicles leaving from and coming to Biratnagar have been left stranded since morning as a result of the strike called by the Faijan Ahmed Struggle Committee, Biratnagar.[break]

Local Muslim youths have put up barricades at various locations around Biratnagar including Shani Mandir, Nemuwa, Karsiya, Kadmaha, Birat Chowk and Ramjanaki Chowk.

However, ambulance, press and school vehicles have not been stopped from plying on the road, the Committee has said. The strike will remain effective throughout the day today.

Earlier on Saturday evening, the Muslim community had also organized a torch rally in Biratnagar and Rangeli.
