Lumbini was reduced to 10 men after Akash Thapa was sent off late on for a second bookable offense in the match.
Far West's first win in five fixtures -- three at home and two in away venues -- lifted it to sixth place in the standings with four points, including a draw against Morang FC.
It is level on points with Lumbini, which also has a win and a draw from five matches, and trails fifth-placed Tribhuvan Army Club by two points. However, Far West is ahead of Lumbini on goal difference. Morang dropped one spot to the bottom of the table with two points. Manang Marshyangdi Club leads the table with 10 points from four matches.
In a closely contested first half, Ananta Tamang opened the deadlock in the 40th minute to give Far West a slender one-goal cushion into the break.
Man-of-the-match Cedric opened his scoring in the 49th minute to put his team 2-0 up as Far West poured forward with a barrage of attacks in the second half. He added another in the 69th minute before completing a hat-trick in the last minute of regulation time to take his tally in the league to four goals. He had also scored the equalizer for Far West against Manang.
"Our scoring had been sloppy in previous matches. We played really well today [Sunday] and goals came flying by," said Far West coach Kiran Shrestha.
"We will be looking forward to continuing this momentum as this win has motivated the players further. Our team coordination is good."
Far West will take on Nepal Armed Police Force in its next fixture.
Lumbini coach Yam Prasad Gurung said that bad refereeing cost his team the match.
"Bad refereeing cost us dear. Series of bad decisions infuriated our players and they lost coordination. And we could not withstand the opponent's barrage of attacks after that," said Gurung.
