CDO stops construction of road in 'No Man's Land'

Jhapa, July 2: Concerned over Nepal´s territory encroachment, Jhapa Chief District Officer (CDO) Geha Nath Bhandari directed concerned authorities to dismantle the road constructed on theNepal-India border.



Following the directive, Indian contractor Juber Alam immediately measured the road constructed encroaching on the border by the Indian side and dismantled around 200 meters road constructed along the border at Khajurgachhi VDC-1 of the district. [break]



The international law has forbidden constructing road, building house and digging or ploughing in the border areas.



The CDO urged the Indian contractor to separate no men land and restart the construction and Phattepur based Indian Seema Surakshya Bal (SSB) commander LA Singh agreed to stop constructing the road now.
