The CC, which is mandated to prepare the integrated draft of the new constitution by incorporating all 11 thematic drafts, resumed its work as the CA recently forwarded seven thematic drafts to the committee.
"We have agreed to take up the tasks of dispute resolution and preparing the integrated draft by compiling the issues that have been resolved, simultaneously," said CC Chairman Nilamber Acharya.
According to a member present at Monday´s meeting, though some CA members were for first taking up some other issues that would be relatively easy to resolve, other members stressed the need for settling the key issues so that it would be easier to give a shape to the integrated draft of the constitution.
The CC held its 100th meeting on Monday after a gap of over one year though it held few rounds of meetings in the first week of June last year.
Though almost all parliamentary party leaders of the parties represented in the CA are members of the CC, UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal and CPN-UML Chairman Jhalanath Khanal didn´t attend the meeting. Nepali Congress (NC) parliamentary party leader Ram Chandra Paudel left the meeting after attending briefly.
Members at the meeting urged committee chairman Acharya to push the top leaders for their regular participation so as to make the committee´s work decisive and productive.
