KATHMANDU, June 1: Ramji Dahal, who lost the election to the post of General Secretary during the recently concluded General Convention of Federation of Nepalese Journalists (FNJ), filed a writ petition at the Supreme Court on Wednesday demanding re-counting of the votes.

Earlier, Dahal had filed a case at the District Administration Office, Kahtmandu demanding re-counting of the votes but latter decided to put the case on hold saying that vote recounting doesn´t fall under its jurisdiction. [break]

"I am compelled to file the writ petition at the apex court as I couldn´t get justice from DAO," reads the petition. Dahal was defeated by Om Sharma by three votes in the FNJ election.
