The relatives claimed that 25-year-old Chaudhary was brought on a motorbike and left at a deserted ground after they struck a deal with his captors. [break]
He was abducted 10 days ago from Maheshpur Gamhariya-9. Inspector at the Area Police Office, Mirchaiya, Khadga Narayan Sah, however, claimed that Chaudhary was freed as part of an exchange deal after police held a relative of the abductors and set Chaudhary´s release as condition for letting the relative off.
The Mirchaiya police organized a press conference at its premises later and claimed that Chaudhary´s release was secured by police.
Chaudhary, who has serious injuries on his chest and head due to torture from kidnappers, was taken to BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in Dharan by the family. The family is reluctant to speak about the ransom, but relatives privy to the affair said around Rs 400,000 was paid for the release.
Chaudhary said he was abducted while returning home on his motorbike (Sa 1 Pa 6872) by an armed group of around four persons in the evening of February 13.
He said he was blindfolded and made to walk through sugarcane field that night. The next day he was taken to Baluwa Tole in India on a bike.
