BUSINESS BRIEFS: QA names new routes

KATHMANDU, Dec 25: Qatar Airways has announced its plans to further expand its international operation next year with the launch of flights from its Doha hub to three diverse cities -- Tokyo, Bengaluru and Ankara. The cities will join Qatar Airway´s growing international network over an eight-week period beginning February 2010. [break]



India´s largest technology hub Bengaluru formerly known as Bangalore will be the first of the three launches with daily flights beginning from February. With the addition of Bengaluru in the southern states of Karnataka will take the Airway´s Indian capacity to 71 flights a week spread across 11 cities.



The second one to be added to Qatar Airway´s burgeoning routes will be Ankara. The airways has planned to serve daily flights to Tokyo via Osaka by the end of April, said a press release issued on Friday.





Evrol gets NS mark



KATHMANDU, Dec 25: Evrol TMT Rod has got Nepal Standard mark (NS mark) from the Department of Standard and Metrology. Evrol TMT is a product of Goenka Steels Pvt Ltd of Goenka group which has already received ISO certificate.



According to a press release, the steel products from Goenka Steels are produced and tested from a factory equipped with the modern technology which it claims to be the first in Nepal.



Goenka Steels has been producing products like iron rods, steel angles and channels for the last 30 years.
