BIRATNAGAR, Dec 25: Classes of Nursing Campus based in Biratnagar of Morang district have been disrupted due to a weeklong padlock over the issue of a lecturer´s transfer.

Democratic Professors Association padlocked the nursing college demanding to cancel lecturer Neela Subba´s transfer. Dean´s Office under Tribhuvan University had sent a letter of her transfer in the campus a few days ago.

Subba has been transferred to Nursing Campus, Maharajgunj. However, she has not received the letter saying it was an unfair and irrelevant decision made upon her profession.

She claimed that she has right to stay in the local campus since she was a local resident and popular among students.

Campus Chief Mathura Nepal said though an application demanding to cancel her transfer was sent to the Dean´s Office, no reply has been received yet. Free Students´ Union of the campus protested the decision to transfer her from the college and demanded to cancel it a few days ago.

Some professors teaching in the college have been padlocking the college demanding to cancel the decision to transfer her in Kathmandu since Sunday.
