ITAHARI, Aug. 17: President of Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) has said that the big media houses have failed to give due attention towards increasing the efficiency and quality of journalists, and are thereby also not giving them due remuneration.

Inaugurating a three-day media security and code of conduct orientation organized by the FNJ SUnsari chapter at Inaruwa on Friday, Mr Gaunle said the Nepali media sector is facing increasing problems at present as political parties have failed to introduce policies liberal towards independent press.

He also warned that the failure of the parties to develop independent press could ultimately have an impact on the political parties themselves.

More than 50 media persons based in Sunsari district are taking part in the orientation.
