Big brands annouce festival discounts, offers

KATHMANDU, Sept 20: Branded stores around the valley have launched festive schemes offering up to 50 percent discount on varieties of apparel and accessories. The stores have introduced offers to cash in on the approaching festivals when Nepalis go on a buying spree.



Branded stores such as Puma, Baleno, Bossini, United Colors of Benetton, Monte Carlo, Indian Terrain, Nike and Bently among others have introduced festive offers for the buyers. [break]



Puma Store at Sherpa Mall, Durbar Marg and City Centre Kamal Pokhari has announced up to 50 percent discount on footwear, apparel, bags and accessories among others. Pema Lama of the Puma store said that discount offers help the sales as consumers can buy latest products at discounted price.



Puma store at Sherpa Mall and City Centre houses over 150 models of footwear, priced between Rs 3,000 and Rs 12,000.



Branded stores offering discounts say the festive offers help jack up sales by as much as 50 percent as compared to normal period. At a time when the retail business of apparel is seeing a downturn, the festive offers are expected to revamp the sales.



Chandra Mala, proprietor of Bentley, said besides boosting up the sales, it is the festive offers that are lately attracting large number of middle class customers towards branded products.



Bentley is offering up to 50 percent discount on a wide variety of shoes, bags and belt for the festive season.



Offers like buy one and get one free are the most preferred schemes at various branded stores. Jayendra Shrestha, owner of Bossini store, said such offers are luring more customers for Bossini. The store is offering up to 50 percent discount on apparel for men, women and kids and the sale will last till mid-September.



Similarly, Shikhar Shoes - another popular player in the domestic branded product market - has offered over 180 types of footwear at up to 50 percent discount. Shikhar Shoes has launched the offer on a wide variety of men and women footwear and has been able to receive good response from middle-class customers who want to adorn themselves with branded products.



The offer will last till the stock remains.
