Ban misleading ads: SC

KATHMANDU, June 10: The Supreme Court has ordered the government to monitor, control and ban advertisements that incorporate misleading message regarding any product.

A division bench of Justice Gopal Parajuli and Cholendra SJB Rana issued the order to form a mechanism to regulate advertisements saying that any misleading advertisement published or broadcast could harm physical as well as mental health of the people.

Responding to the writ petition filed by Bishnu Timalsina of Forum for Protection of Consumer Rights, the apex court has ordered to study international practice regarding the issue.
