In the match played at TU cricket ground, Dinesh Agri´s unbeaten 81 runs guided Baitadi to a respectable score of 257 losing eight wickets in 50 overs.[break] Baitadi did not have good start as it lost the first wicket of Shakti Bhandari (15) with 36 runs on board. A 89-run partnership between opener Santosh Bhatta and Surendra Chand guided Baitadi to a strong position. Bhatta scored a half century and Chand scored 43 runs. Bhatta played 72 balls for his 55 runs that included four boundaries and two huge sixes while Chand took 44 balls to score 43 runs. The silly run out of Bhatta fumbled Baitadi and put it under pressure. Agri came to bat in no 7 and scored a quick 81 runs off 71 balls that included four huge sixes and seven boundaries.
Mohammad Hasim Ansari took two wickets for Birgunj in his nine-over spell conceding 55 runs with two maidens. Sameer Thapa and Jitendra Mukhiya shared a wicket each.
Chasing the total of 258, Birgunj was bowled out at 212 runs off 47.4 overs. Dinesh Agri took four wickets in his 10-over spell conceding 40 runs. Rajendra Bhatt, Kamalraj Joshi, Sunil Tamang and Ashok Bhatt grabbed a wicket each.
Birgunj had a good start of 40 runs for the first wicket between Santosh Sah and Naresh Raj Giri. Sah fell after he scored 11 runs off 32 balls. Giri and captain Mohammad Hasim Ansari shared 63 runs partnership for the second wicket. Giri gave away his wicket through a run out after he scored 52 runs off 72 balls.
Sameer Thapa stayed not out till the end of the inning but was not able to guide his team to victory. Thapa scored 44 runs off 54 balls with four boundaries.
In another match played at Pulchowk engineering ground, Nepalgunj won the toss and scored 129 losing all wickets in 30.3 overs. Nasir Ansari was the highest scorer with 50 runs off 42 balls with four boundaries and three sixes. Ansari had gained life earlier when his personal score was three runs and later completed a half century through a six.
Bibek Chaudhary took four wickets in his eight over spell conceding 28 runs. Lal Bahadhur Adhikari grabbed four wickets in his eight overs while Krishna Karki took one wicket.
Bhairahawa captain Antim Thapa´s unbeaten 62 runs guided the team for the victory in 21 overs. Bhairahawa had a bad start as it lost the first wicket when the score was two on board. Kiran Pandey was the first batsman to be out on duck by Nasir Ansari.
Thapa and Lal Bahadhur Adhikari had a 122-run partnership for the second wicket. Adhikari was sent back to the pavilion by Navin Shahi after he scored 47 runs off 54 balls with five boundaries and a six. Thapa scored 62 runs off 63 balls with nine boundaries and a six.
With the win Bhairahawa has climbed to the top position of group B with four points.
