District Education Officer, Jhum Prasad Rai distributed audio books to blind students Sundar Limbu, Man Kumar Limbu, Bhim Maya Rai, Laxmi Darji and Phool Maya Rai, currently studying in the twelfth grade. He said that the books have not only benefited the blind students but also other students.

According to Bijaya Dewan, coordinator of the organization, it took nearly a year to prepare audio textbooks for 12 subjects. The idea was conceptualized after blind students faced difficulty studying. Dewan says, “We have also planned to prepare books for the bachelor level within a year.”

Along with the audio textbooks, the students were also given mp3 players, chargers, batteries and other required software. The students will have to return the audio textbooks and other things back after they finish their studies.

The Youth Participation was supported by Gokundeshwor Higher Secondary School and Paathibhara Book Store to distribute the audio-textbooks to the blind students.
