According to the National Census Report 2011, as many as 133,605 eligible voters are left out from the voters´ list.
The census showed that the total population of Banke is 491, 313. Of it, 307,758 people are above the 16-year-age group whereas the population of people below 16 years is 183,555.
Lok Bahadur Rana, Chief of the District Election Office, Banke, said a total of 88,932 men and 85,320 women had participated in the campaign to record their names with photo in the voters´ list.
The campaign to collect the voters´ list with photo has reached all the 46 VDCs and Nepalgunj Municipality in the district.
