APF wins twin golds from cricket

MAHENDRANAGAR, March 2: Armed Police Force (APF) clinched double gold in T20 cricket on Friday in the Sixth National Games in Mahendranagar.



In men´s category, APF defeated Central Region by six wickets for the gold, while the women´s team overcame Eastern Region by 28 runs.[break]



In men´s category, Central won the toss and scored 144 runs losing eight wickets. Rajesh Pulami scored 43 runs for Central while Basanta Regmi grabbed four wickets. APF successfully chased the target of 145 runs in 18.4 overs losing four wickets. Paresh Lohani scored 38 runs for the winning team. Western Region finished third with 30 runs victory over Far-western.



In women´s section, APF won the toss and scored 106 runs losing six wickets.



Sita Rana Magar was not out on 47 runs. Eastern were restricted for just 78/7 in the allotted 20 overs. Central finished third with 19 runs victory over Far-western.
