"We had serious differences from the very beginning on issues related to the home administration," Ansari said, adding, "I decided to quit as I was not given any responsibilities for so long." He said that his sense of morality did not allow him to hold on to his post given the deteriorating security situation.
Ansari has mentioned in his resignation letter the issues over which he had differences with Home Minister Rawal. "I was not given the required responsibilities by Minister Rawal," reads the letter, adding " I was not given a chance to participate in the decision making process concerning home administration issues."
He further said that he tried to establish a system of reward and punishment in the police organization but could not.

Ansari claimed that his suggestions were largely ignored by the prime minister and by Rawal. "The entire police administration was used unilaterally and so law and order went on deteriorating," reads the resignation letter, adding, "My sense of morality does not me allow to continue in my post when cases of murders, abduction and violence are rife".
Ansari admitted that he had been demanding of the home administration to be handed responsibility for the central region. "I demanded with the home minister to delegate to me the command of zones more sensitive from the security point of view," Ansari added, "But all my endeavors went in vain."
