Nepal´s former national player Sunil Tuladhar, U-19 national player Prasant Giri, Rajiv Shrestha and Pralay Rajbhandari are participating in the three-day long tournament. [break]
According to Shrestha, Giri and Tuladhar will be participating along with him from DCFC while Rajbhandari will play from NY. Giri, Rajbhandari and Shrestha are the first batch players of ANFA academy. The tournament coordinated by Chandra Lama will feature 20 different teams of the US.
Shrestha said that the tournament is organized to select players for the Aaha Gold Cup held each year in Pokhara. The players will be selected by former national player Umesh Pradhan.
Bikram Thakali, president of Sahara Club that organizes the Aaha Gold Cup, said that they have not received any official proposal form the ANA but he is positive about it.
“It is great to know that Nepalis living in the US are aspiring to play in the Aaha Gold Cup. We will think about participating after we get an official proposal. But the final decision will be made by the club´s working committee,” said Thakali.
