Agrawal appointed NTV chief

KATHMANDU, Dec 27: The government has decided to appoint Sitaram Agrawal as the chairman of Nepal Television.



A cabinet meeting held in Singha Durbar on Thursday morning took a decision to this effect.[break]



According to Minister for Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation Eknath Dhakal, the meeting also decided to provide Rs 150,000 to the woman who was robbed of her cash and sexually exploited by some immigration staffers at the Tribhuvan International Airport.



Similarly, the cabinet meeting approved Chief of Army Staff (CoAS) Gaurav Shumsher Rana´s visit to India beginning January 6.



Likewise, the meeting decided to give an extra monthly allowance of Rs 1,500 to VDC secretaries.



The meeting also decided to approve the resignation of Janak Raj Joshi, the vice-chairman of Poverty Alleviation Fund.
