Central committee member of Cricket Association of Nepal Binod Mainali said that they had been planning to build cricket ground for the past six years and everyone is delighted with the ACC´s announcement to fund the project. The players, who were upset about the lack of ground, are excited after hearing the news.

Cricket player Manita Shahi said that they were not able to practice as ground was not available. “After the construction of the ground, cricket will flourish in this region,” she said.

Banke has produced a number of national and international players for the nation. The players of Banke practice cricket on the premises of Mangal Prasad School.

Mainali says the ACC will continue to help Nepal in building new cricket grounds.

“Our target is to make the ground ready in a year.” Vice-president of Region no 5 Chinta Mani Dhital said that the ground will be completed by 2014.
