Radheshyam Yadav, 24, a staff of the Lahan branch of Asian Life Insurance was kidnapped while he was heading to Rupani of Saptari on June 10.[break]
The kidnappers had telephoned Yadav´s family and demanded Rs 1000,000 in ransom for his release. After receiving the ransom, the kidnappers had left Yadav at his relatives’ house in Bihar of India.
After negotiating the deal and handing over the ransom, we were successful in rescuing him, Yadav´s relatives said.
The abductors had settled for Rs 4 lakhs in Indian currency as a ransom for his safe return. However, after receiving the amount, the abductors refused to free Yadav, saying the amount did not reach them and that the money was taken by some other group.
They also demanded a fresh sum of money, which Yadav´s relatives finally managed to pay. It is, however, not disclosed how much money the family paid for the second time to secure Yadav´s release.
