The locals tried to close down the East-West Highway Saturday accusing the police of not doing enough to rescue Sah. Police have yet to get any clues about the victim.
The protesters clashed with police who were trying to open the highway. Deep Narayan Raut of Asanpur-7, who was seriously injured in police baton-charge, is receiving treatment at Lahan Nursing Home while others were treated at local medical stores.
Even though the police reopened the highway, Golbazar market remained shut on Saturday. Security at Golbazar has been beefed up to avoid more protests.
Sah had been running Shiva Money Transfer at Golbazar and was kidnapped on his way home on Thursday evening by an armed group, according to Binod Sah, the brother of the victim and an eyewitness.
“We were both going home on the same motorcycle when an armed group of 4-5 people took my brother away. He was also carrying a bag with six million rupees in it,” said Binod.
