Around 200 sugarcane farmers were planning sit-in at District Administration Office, today.

Farmers accused that they were arrested to clear way for the PM’s entourage. They were also planning to meet the PM and put forth their demands.

Earlier, farmers and industrialist had agreed on Rs 483.50 per quintal for sugarcane. However, the farmers claimed that they were not paid as per the agreement. There are three sugar industries in Nawalparasi district.
