KATHMANDU, Aug 29: The 33-party alliance led by the CPN-Maoist has demanded an all-side political assembly to put an end to the deadlock that, it argued, has stonewalled the constitution promulgation process.

Emerging from today's meeting of the Alliance, CPN-Maoist Secretary Dev Prasad Gurung shared that Alliance has urged the government and major political parties to pay heed to increasing dissenting voices across the country in connection to the delineation of provinces.

Secretary Gurung said that the Alliance understood the government's decision to mobilize army in the riot-hit zone in various places across the country as a wrong decision. "Instead, the issues should be resolved through political means," he added.

The Alliance, issuing a press statement signed by CPN-Maoist Chair Mohan Baidya, following the meeting, has pleaded with the government to withdraw the decision of army mobilization and revoke the declaration of prohibitory areas for various places across the country. RSS
