30 schools closed in Morang over doomsday rumor

BIRATNAGAR, Dec. 21: Community schools in the eastern and northern parts of Morang district were closed today, following rumour that the earth would be destroyed today or December 21.



Some 30 schools in east and north Morang including the Janata Secondary School, Morang remained closed today due to the doomsday rumour, according to teachers.



Meanwhile, property worth Rs. 400,000 was looted from a computer shop based in Traffic Chowk in Biratnagar.



Six computer sets and laptops, computer parts and cash were looted from the shop that is just 100 in distance from the police office, shop owner Sushil Regmi said.
