PANCHTHAR, Dec 28: Three people of a same family have died when an ambulance ferrying them met with an accident at Godhak in Ilam district on Monday.
The accident took place when an ambulance heading to district headquarters Phidim ferrying ill people from Dharan skidded off the road and fell some 100 meters down in Godhak at 3 am today.

The deceased have been identified as Ananda Adhikari , Naramaya Chauhan and Renuka Adhikari of Ektin VDC, Panchthar, said Uttam Bhandari, chief of District Traffic Police office, Panchthar.
The ill-fated ambulance, Me 1 Cha 1447, was returning home with ailing person after treatment at Dharan-based hospital. In the accident Gyannath Prasai of Surunga, Jhapa and Tikaram Adhikari of Phidim have been injured. They have been sent to Birtamod-based B and C hospital for treatment.
The reason behind the accident is yet to be confirmed.
