3 kg gold found at Tatopani transit

SINDHUPALCHOWK, Dec 16: Three kilograms of gold have been recovered from near a bridge joining Nepal and China here in the district on Sunday morning.



The Tatopani customs office recovered three gold biscuits, each weighing one kilogram, from Nepal´s side of the Miteri bridge at around 11:45 this morning.  [break]



The police believe the gold, wrapped in plastic, was left unattended to by the smugglers fearing arrest. The police have launched a manhunt to track down and nab the culprits. Around two weeks ago, the police had seized nine kilograms of gold while being smuggled to Nepal via the same route.
