A team from Narcotic Drug Control Law Enforcement Unit of Nepal Police busted Zambian nationals Hyback Mawanza and Annie Nondo and a Filipina Mary Arnaldo Figureras with 688 grams of the contraband.
The police recovered 648 grams from Bansbari and 40 grams from Samakhusi area where the trio had taken three rooms on rent. They are said to have used the rooms as workshops for packing the drugs.
According to the police, the racket is found to have brought white heroin from Pakistan.
The 40-year-old Hyback had long been posing himself as a religious person in the capital. The white heroin extracted from him is comparable to that made up of opium produced in Afghanistan, the police said.
