A total of 34,000 enumerators, guided by 8,500 supervisors, have been mobilized by the CBS.

They will visit over 5.8 million households in all 75 districts for the population count.

The first post-war census is expected to unravel a myriad of interesting facts and figures. The CBS has also decided to mark June 22 as the census day.

According to Dr Rudra Suwal, director of the CBS, the census day is a median for decoding and analyzing the statistics collected in the course of 11 days of field work.
