10-year-old drowns in Phewa Lake

KASKI, May 1: A 10-year-old child drowned in the Phewa Lake on Friday. The Armed Police Force of Kalika Battalion confirmed the death of Aaresh Lama, 10, of Khapaudi from Pokhara Metropolis-18. 



Battalion Chief Superintendent of Police, Basanta Bahadur Singh, said the child drowned while swimming in the lake on Friday morning.

Though he was rescued in an unconscious state from the depth of 18 feet with the help of a team comprising seven divers, he was pronounced death at the Western Regional Hospital, Pokhara Academy of Health Sciences. 


He was medically declared dead at around 12: 15 pm.
