The dead passenger has been identified as 80-year-old Bhairabmaya Karki of Lampat, Sindhuli.
The injured passengers are receiving treatment at Narayani Sub-Regional Hospital, Birgunj, and Sanjeewani Health Care, Simara.
Police suspect the bus lost control after the driver fell asleep.
The driver and his assistant are absconding.
Two-year-old drowns
LAHAN, Sept 28: A two-year-old boy drowned in a pond near his house at Sukhipur-3 Monday night. The boy has been identified as Sameer Sah, son of Ram Sagar Sah. Police said the boy fell in the pond while he was playing. This is the ninth death from drowning in ponds in Siraha in two months.
Snakebite kills five-year-old
BIRGUNJ, Sept 28: A five-year-old died after being bitten by snake at Telakwa-3 of Bara district Monday night. The boy, identified as Ravi Kishan Majhi, died while being taken to District Hospital, Kalaiya, for treatment.
