At a programme organized by the National Youth Service Fund on Friday, National Poet Madhav Prasad Ghimire while giving away the prizes said as litterateurs are the eye of the society they should give attention on the development of the country. [break]
The award carries a purse of Rs. 50,000 and a gold medal.
On the occasion, Fund Member Secretary Shankar Prasad Pandey said the Fund was glorified that it could honor scholars contributing for more than four decades in uplifting Nepali language and literature.
Also speaking were Nepal Education Council Member Secretary Rama Sharma, and awarded persons Yatri and Belbase discussed on various aspects of literature and social change.
Various poets had recited their poems on the occasion.
