Youth Force march against strike

DHANKUTA, May 3: CPN-UML’s youth wing Youth Force and Youth Federation Nepal rallied in the market against the Maoist General Strike requesting businessmen to open their business outlet on Monday.



“Youth Force cadres have marched around the market requesting people to open shops,” Prabin Pokharel, the Dhankuta co-ordinator said. “We are protesting the strike as it has affected the normal life of the people.”[break]



Federation district president Diplav Rai demanded action against those who civil servants who have not attended the offices.



Immediately after the rally, Maoist youth wing Young Communist League (YCL) cadres staged a march past in the market under leadership of district secretary Ujjwal Kiranti. “The strike is peaceful, Youth Force is trying to turn it violent,” he said.



Meanwhile, security has been beefed up anticipating clash between the cadres of two youth associations.
