JANAKPUR, March 24: At least one Young Communist League (YCL) cadre was seriously injured when a group of YCL cadres opened fire at their colleague in Jhangajholi Ratamata area in Sindhuli, Wednesday night.

A local YCL cadre Shyam Jarghamagar was left seriously injured when a group of YCL cadres who came to Jhangajholi Ratamata opened fire at him. [break]Jarghamagar has sustained critical injury to his lower chest. He has been brought to Kathmandu after primary treatment at a local hospital.

District Police Chief of Sindhuli Janak Bhattarai said they are yet to ascertain the motive behind the shooting.

Sources, however, said the clash between two YCL factions erupted following a dispute over whether to employ all local Maoist cadres in the Japanese government-funded road project.

Maoist Sindhuli district in-charge Basanta Majhi said, “This has nothing to do with the differences in the Maoist party.”
