According to the District Police Office, Bir Bahadur Tamang, 25, of Marbu-5 and Bodhe Waiba, 32, of Sangpang of Sindhupalchok, died after being crushed by stones. [break]
Tamang and Waiba were sitting in a safe place some 70 meters away from the where the rocks were blasted to open the track. However, they were crushed to death after rocks fell down due to the impact of the explosion.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Om Prasad Adhikari, Waiba´s body was still under the rock that killed him. The accident site is 65 kilometers north from Charikot, Dolakha´s district headquarters.
