KATHMANDU, Dec 14: United Nations Special Representative for Children and Armed Conflict Radhika Coomaraswamy arrived Kathmandu on Monday on a three- day visit to Nepal.

Coomaraswamy is scheduled to held talks with political party leaders and government representatives on removing child soldiers from the temporary cantonments of the Maoist combatants during her stay in Nepal.

She had also come to Nepal to take initiative for bidding farewell to disqualified combatants last year.

Although the government had made commitment with Coomaraswamy last year to remove the 3,000 child soldiers of the Maoist army under the age of 18 from the verification process that was concluded on the initiative of the UN in 2007, they still remain in the camps.
