KATHMANDU, Feb 10: The central advisory council of the CPN-UML has welcomed the seven-point deal that was secretly inked between Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal and UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal even as the ruling party is deeply divided over the much-debated agreement.

The faction led by former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal and KP Sharma Oli have seriously objected some of the key points related to the Maoist army integration, government leadership and constitution writing mentioned in the agreement. [break]

The advisory body, on the other hand, has urged the party´s standing committee to help transform the present coalition into a national consensus government with an objective of taking the peace process to a logical conclusion and writing the new constitution.
