Two Indian 'looters' held

SIRAHA, Aug 17: Police have arrested two Indian nationals on charge of looting money from a woman in Siraha on Friday. The two have been identified as Nihal Gwalor, 10, and Bharat Das, 30, of Subhash Chowk, Farbisgunj of Bihar.



Police said they had looted Rs 77,370 from Chandrakala Kamati of Rajpur-7. Kamati had withdrawn the amount from the Supriti Money Transfer and was on her way home when the two pour a mixture of biscuit and water on her body and asked her to wash it off, the victim said.



When she reached the tap to wash the dirt off her clothes, the robbers ran off with her money, she added.



Police nabbed Das at the incident site itself and Nihal was arrested from Bishnupura Chowk along with the loot, informed Siraha Police chief Rajesh Lal Karna.



Similarly, a gang in which the two are members had also looted money from Lalan Mishra Thursday morning using the same trick, said Lahan police.



A group of Indian robbers have been active in Siraha and Lahan, informed police. Police said they hope to track down other looters based on information that would possibly be extracted from the arrestees.
