Basnet, who reached the rivulet to take bath, died after he drowned while swimming.
Likewise, an elderly woman also died after she drowned in Majhariya canal at Sisahaniya VDC of Deukhuri, police said.
The deceased has been identified as Puni Kumari Gautam, 62, of Sisahaniya VDC-2.
She died after she slipped into the canal water while walking across its side.
