Turkish woman held with 1.8 kg hashish

KATHMANDU, March 12: The Nepal Police on Wednesday arrested a Turkish woman with 1.8 kg hashish from the Tribhuvan International Airport. A team of Narcotic Control Bureau (NCB) arrested Ozge Sagsoz, 30, during regular security check.

According to NCB, the Turkish national had tried to smuggle the contraband to Turkey by hiding it inside a Buddha statue made of clay.  Before she boarded the flight of Turkish Airways, flight number TKO 727, at 8:25 pm, police seized the contraband in her possession. We are investigating the case to find if she has a criminal past. She will be prosecuted under the narcotic drug control act.
