KC´s health further worsens; Docs to halt all medical services
KATHMANDU: Doctors have announced to bring to a halt all services, except emergency, at all medical institutions across the country on Saturday and Sunday as the health of Dr Govinda KC, who is now on the fifth day of his fast-unto-death, has further deteriorated on Friday.

Dr KC, a senior professor at the Institute of Medicine (IoM) and lifelong member of NMC, on Monday had restarted his fast-unto-death demanding appointments of officials including Dean at the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH) on the basis of seniority and merit, but not through political influence.
With KC´s heath fast deteriorating, the doctors today intervened and put saline drip on his body. Earlier, Dr KC had refused to take saline drip despite deterioration in his health. Dr Kedar Nar Singh KC, a former chairman of Nepal Medical Association (NMA) said a campaign will be launched to save KC´s life and appealed to all to show up at the TUTH, Maharajgunj to express solidarity to the cause.
Earlier, speaking at a press conference, NMC chairman Dr. Kiran Shrestha had said they have now lost their patience, saying the government has persistently remained indifferent to Dr KC´s demands.
