Organizing a function in Kathmandu, the club honored the team with the cash amount and provided a set of track-suit to 23 players, three coaches and a manager of the U-19 team that defeated India 5-4 on penalties in the final to end Nepal's title drought in football after 22 years.CMG Club's Narendra Sah handed over the prize to team coach Bal Gopal Maharjan, manager Diwakar Ghale and skipper Bimal Gharti Magar.
Meanwhile, Ganesh Thapa, president of All Nepal Football Association, said during the function that the Nepali team has never been too weak but still had failed to win titles.
He also added that if Nepali team faces any humiliating defeat against South Asian nations, then he will resign from his post.
Similarly, Secretary at the Ministry of Youth and Sports (MoYS) Dipendra Nath Sharma said players' life should be ensured after their retirement and also added that the ministry is working to honor U-19 team coach Maharjan.
While, coach Maharjan reiterated that coaches should not be appointed for short term.
