The expenses for the run-of-river project with installed capacity of 61 MW will amount to $89.23 million, the NEA official told myrepublica.com. The Letter of Acceptance (LoA) was signed between the two parties on December 29. The contract work is scheduled to start from mid-June and is expected to complete in 35 months time.
The project will be undertaken through Chinese assistance under the Line of Credit amounting to Rs 11 billion.
The project, which lies in Rasuwa and Nuwakot districts, has an annual energy generation of 480 GWh. With the requirement of 220 kVA transmission line, the estimated cost of the project is $109 million. The project is to be commissioned by 2011 under the aegis of the Government of Nepal through soft loan from the Government of China.
