Tourists arrival from west border transit point up

KAILALI, March 19: The number of foreign tourists entering the country from the west border transit point has increased this year.



Five foreign tourists entered the country from the Trinagar transit point n Kailali and 305 from the Gadda Chauki transit point in Kanchanpur district in the two and half months period of 2012.[break]



According to the Immigration Office, Kailali, although the Number of foreign tourists entering the country from the Trinagar transit point has decreased, the number of foreign tourists coming from Gadda Chauki border point has increased.



The Trinagar border transit point collected revenue of Rs 49,800 in the eight months of the current fiscal year from tourist entry fees while the Gadda Chauki border transit point collected Rs 2.5 million in the same period.



One thousand six hundred and forty foreign tourists entered Nepal from the Gadda Chauki transit point and 40 from the Trinagar transit point in 2011.
