Police arrested Hansu Jain, Kabita Jain and JP Narayan Jain during a raid on a house in Biratnagar on Saturday evening. Police also seized Rs 32,000, three mobile sets, one CDMA mobile set and two landline phone sets from them. [break]
"They were betting while watching cricket matches on TV when we conducted the raid," said police inspector Shiva Kumar Shrestha.
Police say the three are members of a huge betting racket. Police have also recovered a slip from the raided house which showed that Rs one million was at stake during the cricket match.
Police had raided the same house two months ago but had let off Hansu since there was no evidence of betting.
